I am trying to change a voicemail password on a telrad key bx 2464 v02 plus system from the phone. I don't have a clue where to get started... can anyone help me?? Thanks!

OK, I found the mailbox parameters stuff and the directions to access it. The first step is to "dial the TelradIVM." How do I do that??

You cant change mailbox passwords from the admin section. You can change it from your own mailbox if you have the old password or you can go to the Voicemail PC get into the mailbox from the system admin and change it there.

ok... we have no monitor hooked up to the pc part, so that answers that question. I am trying to change the voicemail password from my phone. Thats where I'm confused. It says to dial the TelradIVM, how do I do that??

well let me give you the directions straight from the manual.

To set mailbox parameters...

1. From the Main Administration Menu, press [2] and dial the desired mailbox number (31).
2. You may then set or cancel the selected mailbox's password, as follows:

Press
[1]

Operation
to set
mailbox password

Description
Enter either:
the new password
or
[#] to elminiate
the password
access requirement

That is how it tells me to do it in the manual.... is this correct?? If not, how do I do it the correct way?? Again, I am trying to do this from the phone that has the password I want changed! Thanks again for the help so far!

To dial the Voicemail you'll need to know what port or group it's on (I usta use 90 or 91) but it could be anything the original programmer wanted. You can add a monitor to your system and do it like SS suggested, and from there you'll also see what the port # is to dial the voicemail by phone. No one here can tell you what to dial because we don't know what port it was set up on. Follow SS's suggestion. [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
good luck

Well I was going through the manual and found "portext = 1" in someones hand writing. I assume this could be the port, might as well give it a try... what should I do now?? Thanks!!

Do you have a DSS on that system? If so we can find out which ports are your Voice mails. Overlay 2 button ex/186 and it should show you the VS&F ports.

I'm not sure if we have DSS on this system. Is there a way to tell from the phone and if so, can you give me some instructions on how to do so? We don't have a monitor on the pc system. Thanks!!

The DSS unit will be next to the main Recpt. phone # 20, it's a unit with no handset and buttons for stations 20-83, can't check it with a phone you need the DSS.

Or you can look on the break outs to see where the VMS ports are wired.
