A customer talked us into installing a TelRad 818 digital key set with voice mail. When we arrived on site everything was in a pile and of course there was no manuals. We have figured just about everything out execpt for the voice mail connections. The system will transfer the call to voicemail, but the system will not pick up the call. I have traced the issue to the voice card in the PC. I know there are two RJ11 ports on the voice card, the line cords go to a black box, 2 in and then 2 out (although there are 4 in and 4 out available on the box) the box is labeled TX3 I believe. The 2 line cords that exit the TX 3 box plug into a outlet (transfers the 2 line cords to a single CAT5 4 pair. Now my question is; where does this 4 pair cat5 terminate? Which card and what pairs on that card?

Any guidance will be much appriciated.

Thanks in Advance

The Telrad Imagen isn't the easiest to wire and set up, the audio (J3) goes to the OCD block and depends on which position you have your mim mods, the data (J1) goes into the OCD card. And if you are going to program the switch you will also need the software, the VM will need a monitor and keyboard to program it.
There are manuals for the switch and VM on the manuals site.

That's not a Imagen it's a Emagen. Let me see if I can find the wiring diagram for the black box. FYI if you have volume issues with this voicemail you may want to change out the blackbox/OCD for a OCD2 card it makes connections much easier. And for the couple hundred for the card it worth it.

OK, 2 questions
1. does anyomne know the pinut of the OCD block? That is where the Black box terminates, Right?

2. There is a serial cable that connects to the serial port on the PC, what card does that cable connect to? Is it the OCD card? Which is in Slot 3.

Thanks for your help
