Yikes... this thing's been up and running for about three weeks now and I've ran into a problem.... none of the 4 ports on the shd card will ring anymore.... they used too, I hooked a volt meter up to it and it says 41DC when it on the hook and not ringing, and when it ringing it goes to 2 - 4 AC - you can hear the relay on the card trying to switch the volts from the ringing generator to the port - Is there something I could have screwed up in the programming?

It's SBM 3.xx

Any Ideas?

Thanks!

Geoff

Sounds like the ring generator is bad on the card. And there external RG connection will not work on the SHD card. The SLD ONS and HONS didnt have the onboard ring generator its was a add on on the card or a external RG connected to the cabinet.

Is the ringing generator an add on for this SHD card? Is it something that I could remove and have replaced?

No Sir
The RG is on the card not removeable. You could send the card for repair.

Oh Well - I only paid $195 for the whole system and a replacment SHD card is running $350, I'm sure that repairing the card would be WELL above that.... I was thinking about getting a HONS card and finding out how much voltage to supply the ext ringer pin... I think it's 90AC but I'll do some more research....

Oh well....

With SBM3 a HONS brings its own issues. You have to have a M-style or later power supply in the cabinet and you will need the extra on board RG or a external RG.

Would it be better to just replace it with another SHD card? From what I can tell the SHD's come with a ring gen already on them.

Do you repair these or do you know how much it would cost to have this one fixed - it already has a "repaired by telrad" sticker on it....
