We have a CTX 100 system and use WinAdmin. When the message lamp is lit on a phone, you press the MSG button and it calls 555 so you can get the message.
555 may ring 3 or 4 times before you can get the message. Is there a way to change the setting so that it rings through quicker--like one ring?
If so, where is this change made? Our vendor has sent a tech a couple of times, but says it cannot be done, and that this is the system default. The only quandry is that the settings used to be different--but I don't know how they were changed or by whom.
I know how to do basic things like assign extensions to employees, but I haven't stumbled upon the right section for this yet.
Any help appreciated.

How many ports do you have on your voicemail? It could be that all ports are in use and the next call camps on until a port is free. Does this happen everytime you dial 555? If yes, check the Stratagy system configuration parameter 'n_rings' and make sure that the ports are answering on the first ring.

Thats a simple answer. Your voicemail may not have enough ports. This is very common with 2 port systems. Call me at 972-644-8986 and ask for Rob, we can fix this for you fast.
Have a great day!

I just realized how very rude it was of me to never reply that I found the solution on my own. Thanks to all the folks who replied!
