When you use mailbox 999 to reset a VM password, what does it get reset to?

Also, I'm trying to use the r3admin to do some other changes but keep getting

Unable to get right status while initialize the modem.

The cabling looks correct and I think I am using the correct password.

Thanks
dave

I think it would be ok to show default passwords on forums. Just not BACKDOOR ones.

What do think?

I don't agree. Besides it is the policy of the board.

Not sure if you a tech, end user or business owner but lets look at your question. If you are a end user/business owner and one of your past (or present) employees were to post a request for a default password or any password and got it they could wipe out the system and/or voicemail. Thats why we take it off the board and verify you are who you say you are.
On another note can I have your password for your bank account? [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

...looks like this path is well travelled. Any chance someone could email me the result of the user id password reset via mailbox 999 as well? All I remember from the course I took years ago on the Stratagy was I hope it isn't built like the Stratagy Box was and what a bizarre default password to arrive at. Haven't they heard of 4 zeros or nines or something?

Hello,
I've just taken over a DK424 system with an IVP8 installed. I can create users but do not know what the base password is.
Would it be possible for me to get an e-mail with the default password.
Thanks
Dave

No, I had selected not to publish my address to the general public for Anti_spam purpose. The Moderators and administrator was checked to allow to e-mail.
I have now changed this setting so My information is now totally public.

I have a Toshiba CTX100 with the Strategy IVP8 voicemail. If anyone could email me passwords for both, it would be greatly appreciated. The unit was set up for a different area of the country and there is much I need to change.

Thanks

I too have just taken over a Stratagy voicemail that I don't know the host account password for. I do have the login and password for several admin accounts. Is it possible to reset the host account from one of those? I didn't see it. Mail me, please!

Edit: It is not the default.

You can call Toshiba corp. and they can reset the voice mail to default, after they verify that you are the owner or authorized by the owner to do so. Toshiba likes to have their own certified tech do any programing but realizes that end users like to have and need to have control over their own equipment

IVP8's are easy. they have a flash memory.
the STRATAGY's are a little harder.
with the IVP8 shut it down properly.
take out the flash card on the vmail.
Put itin a flash card reader on your laptop
-then go into the stratagy directory
there is a file in there that acts like the autoexec.bat- it is basically the system configuration file in Text format.
--open it up and just scroll down to password '??????'

then close everything reinstall the flash card and restart vmail and your in business.

The default mailbox pass codes is always
extension number _ _ _+_ _ _ a certain number that is minus 2 from the administrators mailbox.

I am trying to configure a Stratagy 4 port vm. I am installing this for a customer that doesn't know the password. I tried the default password and no dice. Could someone email me directions on using the backdoor password? Thank you

I would check the baud rate of your com port to make sure that you are running the same speed as you modem in the Stratagy. If you figure it out let me know because I am getting the same thing on my machine. I am able to get further by remoting into the Stratagy. I am using Win XP Pro.

Similar questions..

Stratagy "in-skin". I am able to access all admin boxes through the phone, but PC program passwords are a mystery. Connecting is no problem, but I'm drawing a blank on the default password or process to backdoor in.
