IVP8's are easy. they have a flash memory. the STRATAGY's are a little harder. with the IVP8 shut it down properly. take out the flash card on the vmail. Put itin a flash card reader on your laptop -then go into the stratagy directory there is a file in there that acts like the autoexec.bat- it is basically the system configuration file in Text format. --open it up and just scroll down to password '??????'
then close everything reinstall the flash card and restart vmail and your in business.
The default mailbox pass codes is always extension number _ _ _+_ _ _ a certain number that is minus 2 from the administrators mailbox.

I am trying to configure a Stratagy 4 port vm. I am installing this for a customer that doesn't know the password. I tried the default password and no dice. Could someone email me directions on using the backdoor password? Thank you

I would check the baud rate of your com port to make sure that you are running the same speed as you modem in the Stratagy. If you figure it out let me know because I am getting the same thing on my machine. I am able to get further by remoting into the Stratagy. I am using Win XP Pro.

Similar questions..
Stratagy "in-skin". I am able to access all admin boxes through the phone, but PC program passwords are a mystery. Connecting is no problem, but I'm drawing a blank on the default password or process to backdoor in.
