i come from an avaya definity background and am now working on a toshiba ctx 670 system and i need to know how to setup a manager to be able to listen in anonymously to an employee conversation. i am not entirely sure how to do this and my documentation doesn't really detail this procedure.

You're going to want to use the Winadmin program to program the CTX. If you want to be able to monitor an ACD agent, then assign a call monitor button to an ACD superviser. If you want to monitor a non-ACD call, then you'll have to settle for either privacy override or executive override. Privacy override allows you to press a line key that's in use and join in. Executive override allows you to barge into a conversation after dialing a busy station and receiving a busy tone. Look at the Class-of-Service to enable either choice. I think the splash tone is disabled by default, but you can enable it if you want.
