I have a customer with a dk280 with a rctub2
processor and a perfect voice answer system.
When the auto attendant answers, the customer makes a selection, 1.2.3 or 4, the system transfers the call. The party that is calling hears nothing while the called extention is ringing until their vm box personal greeting plays. This silence causes some customers to hang up. led 5 in 10-2 is off. They don't have music on hold. The calling party needs to hear the ringing when the call is transferred.
Thanks

What's happening is that your voicemail is performing a supervised transfer. This method places the caller on hold while the voicemail is ringing the target extension, and since you don't have on-hold music, the caller hears silence. If you want the caller to hear ringback tone, you must have the voicemail release the call after transferring, BUT you'll need call forwarding set on all of the stations so that the call will be sent back to voicemail on a no-answer, busy, or busy no-answer along with the voicemail id codes.

You must have software release 3.2 to have this feature and you can't put 3.2 on a RCTUB2, it must be a RCTUB3, you will have to put music on hold or upgrade software/hardware

Thanks for the help. I found an old 95 manual that does not show prgm 10-2 to pertain to an rctub2 so you're right on the money breed.
Thanks again to both of you.

I added moh but still have silence on transferred calls from the AA. They only
have 1 cabinet so I changed the processor temporarily to a rctua r4 and the ringing tones are there. Am I missing something with the b r2 processor.

Thanks for replying Steve.
The moh works fine. My problem is when the teleco perfect voice answer, answers the call and you press 1 - 5 to transfer to an extention there is dead silence to the calling party while the called extention is ringing. The party who calls does not hear moh nor ringing. They hear nothing until the person answers or their vm greeting plays.
Prgm 10-2 led 5 does not toggle between them on this rctub2 processor.
Thanks for any suggestion.

IS there a parameter in the voicemail to record on hold music. In the Stratagy if you have busy hold set to yes you will hear nothing until it tranfers to the ext. But you can record a vox file in the Stratagy that will play when the voicemail is holding the call.

I upgraded the processor or downgraded it depending on how you look at it. I was able to put everything in 1 cabinet and used the rctua r4 processor. This satisfied the customer at least until he gets ready to expand but I explained this and the choice was his. All the programming I can do on this system is through a telephone so I would have no way to add a vox file. Thanks for everyone's help.
