Hello everybody,
I am attempting to set up remote administration with Winadmin.
I have followed the set up proceedures but when I try to connect through the software I get a internet explorer message that says "The system could not find the telephone entry for this connection". I have done a little research about internet explorer and the error code is 623, but I cant seem to fiqure out how to get connected through the software. I am able to go straight to the connection in the network connections window and dial the number and connect just fine, but I can not seem to connect through the software because of this issue. Any suggestions

If you have direct access to the system via VM do this:

Make sure your laptop/PC IP address is 192.168.254.251

Then, open WinAdmin
Select CTX
Highlight CTX 100 and CTX 670 default
Click on Use dialup
Enter the number sequence and the mailbox that contains your modem string (i.e. 8,xxxxxxx,,,,xxx)--Note: The mailbox must not store messages and the extension field should have #19H in it
Select connect

Now, you can also do this if you have a phoen hooked up to your PC/laptop and you can call in and be transferred to the modem. There are directions in the manual.

Hope this helps..

Hello Amy,
I am getting the internet explorer message when I click connect in the winadmin software. Its like the software is trying to find a directory in my computer before it will dial. It just will not dial at all because this message comes up everytime I click on connect. I have entered the phone number, the modem transfer mailbox, and all other information correctly, but there's something about internet explorer that is not working correctly with the software.
I have been trying to fiqure this one out for about a week now.

You must create a dial-up network connection in windows. In a nutshell, create a dial-up connection. The CTX/CIX will always have an IP of 192.168.255.254 when dialing into it. The following is cut-n-pasted from the manual. It's the same as Winadmin:

1. In Control Panel Network Connections, select Create a new connection to start the wizard.

2. Click Next:

3. Select Connect to the network at my workplace then click Next:

4. Select Dial-up connection, then click Next:

5. Enter RemoteCTX1 as the name of the connection (this entry is case sensitive, must not have any spaces), then click Next:

6. You must leave the Phone number empty, the phone number will be configured later in the eManager equipment profile. Click on Next:

7. Do not click on the ‘Add a shortcut’ box’. Click Finish, it will create the new entry and pop up the Connect dialog.

8. Do not make any entries in this dialog box. Click on Properties to continue with the setup:

The CIXModem Properties dialog box will open.

9. Select your modem and configure if necessary, otherwise leave the default values for other fields, also on the Options Security and Advanced tabs. You must leave the Phone number empty for now, the phone number will be configured later in the eManager equipment profile. Click on the Networking
tab:

10. Select PPP protocol from the Type of dial-up server I am calling: drop-down list. Uncheck all items on the other list except TCP/IP. (You cannot uncheck Network Monitor Driver if it is there.) Select TCP/IP and click Properties:

11. Click to select: Use the following IP address and enter an IP address between 192.168.255.2 and 192.168.255.252. Use an IP address that is not already in use on this PC and its network.

12. Click OK, then OK again to close the Properties.

13. Click Cancel on the Connect CIXModem dialog to close it. The new entry is created in The Network Connections.

14. The Connect RemoteCTX1 screen will appear. Click on Cancel.
