you cant use r4 it is only for gvmu not ivp8
ivp8 never came with r2, stratagy dk did
you WILL CORRUPT THE SOFTWARE BY USING THE WRONG PROGRAM

The IVP8 had 2 releases. On the first release, the face plate was ivory colored. The second release, it either had no face plate or is black colored. On release 1 you had to used R3 Admin and release 2 you have to use R4 Admin (aka Xadmin).

Maybe in the states you had different versions than us canadians. IVP8 has only been one color up here ,ivory.
but in canada this is the way toshibas were:

First came stratagy dk with version 2n
then came stratagy dk version 3.2
then came stratagy dk version 3.3
stratagy dk had a hard drive

then came the ivp8 ver 3.3, same software as stratagy dk but it had a flash card instead of a harddrive.

you have to use admin3 software for anything running 2n
you have to use r3zadmin for flash/dk/ivp8 software version 3.0 or above.

then came the gvmu which you can only use r4admin. you cannot use this sofware for flash/dk/ivp8. you will corrupt the database.

now comes the LVMU which you can use the same software, Uadmin 2.0c ,for everything 3.0 and above.
anything below 3.0 you still have to use admin3.

I have run into differences with dealers before, with canada and the US.

Per Toshiba the ONLY software to use on IVP8 Rel 2 is the R4Admin, must change baud rate to 57600, trust me I know what I am talking about.

Like phonemeister said the Rel 2 at first had no front cover on it now it comes with a black cover, and the com ports are reversed.

It must be a difference between Canada and the US.
IVP8 up here max buad rate is 9600, unless your interupting the boot process in DOS.
Our R4admin software even says on the com port parameter page " for GVMU only".

I think you're talking about 2 different things. Mr. T is talking about software version, and is correct on that matter. Meister is talking about hardware version, and is correct on which admin software to use for which hardware. The IVP8 with ivory faceplate (hardware version 1) runs v3.3 software and uses r3admin, while the IVP8 with black or no faceplate (hardware version 2) runs v4 software and uses xadmin.

Also, I've seen some r2 IVP8's and some GVMU's that only work at 9600 baud.

I am looking for the s/w to program and maintain the DK and Stratagy Flash VM remotely and onsite. Any have something for that?

Hello, could i get a email at [email protected] explaining how I can reset the Stratagy password? Our system was setup months ago and I am the new IT in the office and we have no way of getting into the main computer because of its password. Also are there any good sites to read more about how to use the system or maybe a program that makes it easier to use? Thanks

to the board. You will be better served by starting a new Post before digging up a year old one.
When you do List the type of system and voicemail (DK card IVP8 Flash or PC). If the System admin password has been changed it may require a site visit to solve.
