hi!
had a quick question - is there a way to retrieve caller id for a message that is (n) hours or days old, if the message still exists in the iES32?
it displays the cid for internal messages, but these vm all say FRM:UNKNOWN, and we're trying to track a customer message (where the guy indecipherably mumbled his telephone number).
thanks in advance!

At this point, no. The ies did not record the caller id number because it wasn't given it by the CTX/CIX. Either you don't have caller id service or equipment or you need to enable caller id/ANI to pass through the SMDI.

When I get an UNKNOWN on my 3014 screen, it is because the caller id is blocked. To see if that is the same on the iES32, make one call from a cell phone that does not have caller ID blocked and one more call where you dial *67 and then the number.
If the first one shows the number and the second one shows UNKNOWN you have confirmed that your caller id is coming in and is being processed by the toshie and that the caller's number was blocked.

bunny: i don't think it was blocked (although i could be wrong), but all vm's act this way; you can get the CID "live", but on vm playback it always says "unknown" (unless the vm came from someone else in the office).
phonemeister: we have a RCIU/RCIS that, as i mentioned, works fine for "live" calls. i looked in the install guide, but it didn't really show me anything that would tell me if the integration codes currently present would handle the CID. i saw mention of an option "play_caller_id" in the system options, but no such option exists (in my system options).
is there anything on the CIX that needs to be done or is it all on the iES side? *digs about for integration codes reference*
