I have CTX WinAdmin 1.10 and cannot get it to work on XP. Is there a newer version? I really need to get this working today, please help. Doing it via the set is not being very productive.

Thanks in advance!

Voyager,

My profile is complete. There isn't enough room to say anything more. What do you need to know? I'm not hiding anything. Feel free to PM me.

I'm mostly a Nortel Option guy with a lot of Norstar knowledge too, but I have been doing some Toshiba over the last year.

Thanks

you need window's 2000 pro or win2k for win admin it is very picky i had to download i think a wmi patch from microsoft to get it to run. also make sure monitoring and management tools is installed in windows add remove programs. also make sure your permissions are correct in the virtual directories the install creates in iis

Thanks freshfitz,

I tried with XP Pro, but it asked for the Win2k disc and crashed. The NT4 version fared no better. Even if I put in the XP Pro disk and pointed it at the i386 directory, it failed.
To get the job done, I ended up using a laptop that had Win2k Pro on it. But, the laptop that I always carry is XP Pro now, even though it is a big pig of an OS. I already added IIS and other stuff to get the SNMP loaded. So, I still need to get this XP Pro laptop up and running. I think that what I need is a newer version of the winadmin.

:bang:

To be sure, I am NOT an expert on this, but this is what I did to get it up and running, so far faultless.

All virus, spyware, adware protection programs removed. XP Pro service pack 2 updated.

Bingo everything worked. Many people have commented that it only needed this or that and I believe them. This is what I did and nothing worked until I did this.

I don't surf the net with either of the work laptops, so there shoul be no way to get a virus, spyware or adware. I use a MAC to surf an that doesn't get that nasty stuff.

Feel free to take anyone's advice, this worked for me and thats all I am saying, I don't pretend to be an eManager guru installer. If you can make it work on Win95 using floppy disks that don't exist be my guest, I just go with known working plans because I hate PCs and just want them to work for the little time I have to use them.

Now MACs? They rock! Too bad Toshie won't write for them, oh well I think I'll have another Becks to take the PC taste out of my mouth.
