Just finished setting up our Strata CIX 670, what a huge improvement over the DKStrata 424.
The only issue i am having is using the SoftIPT through our Sonicwall Pro 4060 firewall. By chance does anyone have experience with this setup?
Thanks.

Earlier today I talked to the person I consider the guru of Toshiba and he said that two criticals are a static IP just for the IP card and it must not go through a NAT.
I am not up to speed on Sonic for sure, all I am doing is relating what I was told and hope it is useful. (Probably not but whatever.)

Voyager we just hooked up a external IP phone behind a Sonic Wall. Customer was a software company and had their own IT guy program it. If you need some help I can find out what they did. They also had some trouble to start off with.

Brings up the question I always raise; why put the LIPU or BIPU behind a firewall anyway? The only open ports are the ones you need to pass through the firewall anyway.
Toshiba does recommend the IP cards be put behind a firewall, but I still don't see the point.

Newtecky, the IP phones were behind the firewall and the LIPU was outside. The problem we had was no talk path. The IT guy opened up the ports but still no go. Voyager's customer tried to have Sonicwall tech support help but even they couldn't get it to work. Hey, Dan, if you find out anything would you please let me know. Thanks.

Heres an update....
My configuration has 31 IPT phones on LIPU/LIPS connected to LAN with private static IP address. There are 6 hard IPT's and 8-10 soft IPT's in the field that are programmed on the LIPU with the public IP address. The phones connected and can dial extensions and see BLF indications, but there was no audible speech path from either internal to external or external to internal.
Read the flyover in Program 250, FB16 IP NAT/No Peer to Peer. Heres the down and dirty.
a. DISABLE this feature on IPT's connected to LIPU/LIPS with the private IP address - Turns on Peer-to-Peer for these IPT's.
b. ENABLE this feature on IPT's connected to LIPU/LIPS with the public IP address - Turns off Peer-to-Peer for these IPT's.
This seemed to resolve the issues with my configuration.
If anyone has any questions, plese feel welcome to call me.
Dan

I understand the issue now. Definately important to remember this for later.
Toshiba docs say that you could put a LIPU on a Public IP and internal IP phones will still talk to it, but I would guess the same problems would arise.
