I believe I have a good understanding for what the station hunting is used for, but I do not have the expertise in programming it correctly. Is there any documentation on the steps to be taken to be ready to program this feature or is there anyone in this group that would be available to help in programming this at a hourly rate?

Well assuming you have a manual it could be a regular hunt group in program 33 or it could be a distributed hunt group in *40 and is very simple.

Of course since you told us what system you have and what software release you have, there is no need for any more info and it will work just fine as soon as you put in the di-fracterous boolean logrithmic stream. (Is this too much of a hint?)

We have a Strata DK 280 digital key telephone system. What software release do we have? I do not know the answer to that question. How do I find out? The manual I have is dated April 1993.

You have the ability to use program 33, not *40 unless your software has been upgraded and both work fine.

You specify what port rotates to what port until all ports you want are in the hunt group.

For ringing, set only the FIRST port of the hunt group.

If I use program 33 will that cause all calls that go to that port to hunt to the port I specify if the call is not answered?

In 33 the first port in hunting is always the first one called and rotates to the second and so on.

In *40 the system always looks for the port that is the next to be answered. If you call the voice mail, it goes to the port that is next, it looks at what port was used last and goes to the next one. This way each port of a voice mail gets approximately the same number of calls.

In 33 you turn on the ringing for the first port. In *40 you set the ringing for 900, or 901, 902, ect.

Both work.

NO, only on a busy condition
If that is what you want program the extension to call forward no answer in addition to Program 33

Hello,

I have a similar problem. I have a DK280 (does not support *40) and I've programmed 33 to Port 008*011 (My VM's Ports). If someone is calling from the outside and the VM picks up and someone is trying to get messages from the inside they will get a busy tone.

Any help would be appreciated.

How many of your lines ring directly to port 008? I will assume that yor not directing one specific number to be answered by voicemail (Backdoor). I will believe you have all four ports busy when the internal caller is calling voicemail a good way to tell is place all four ports on a phone as DSS/BLF keys and check your pgm's 81,84,87 for ringing.
Also remember unless your using SMDI, which I doubt..."can't use *40, that the fourth port will be busy alot turning on and off Msg lamps & outdialing if programmed.

In 33, you want 008 to rotate to 009 an the next line is 009 to 010 and the last line 010 to 011.

You set day, day 2 or night (81, 84 or 87) ringing ONLY for port 008 and let the Toshiba do the rotary.

If you set all ports to ring in 81, 84 and/or 87, they will all try to answer at once which you DO NOT WANT, let the program 33 do its job.
