We have a Toshiba DK40 system with several DKT3010-SD desk phones and DKT2004-CB cordless phones. We'd like to add a speakerphone to the conference room. It'd be really nice to avoid running a cable across the floor and through the middle of the table.

On one hand, you've got the fancy Polycom cordless speakerphones. Looks like it would solve all our physical problems, but that wouldn't play nice with our DK40 system, would it?

We're currently using a DKT3010 in there, but again, the cable is in the way.

Any suggestions?

If you were to install a KSTU in the 40, it would give you 4 analog extensions, and the Polycom would work just fine! :thumb:

I think we have one slot free in our cabinet, so that's an option. If we added those analog extensions, how would we access the PBX functions (selecting a CO line, paging, transfering, placing a call on hold, etc.)?

Silly question, I know. Currently, the only analog lines in the building are for our faxes and a modem, and those lines don't even touch the DK40 system.

OK. The KSTU fits near the bottom of the KSU. It provides 4 analog dial tones for any analog device, whether it be another phone, modem or whatnot. The dial tone you receive when you go off hook is intercom dial tone from the 40. Therefore, you can access paging by dialing the appropriate code, as well as most other features, if you know the code. I can't remember if the Polycoms come with a hold feature or not, but it should accept those feature codes. Dial 9 for outside line access.
