Hi guys,
Can anyone help me with the terminations of a serial cable from the BSIS. I know it is in the manual but for some reason I always seem to mess it up when making one, and everytime I get it working I forget to write down exactly what I have made.

Can some please give me the definative pin outs for a standard db-9 serial lead from a BSIS.

Thanks heaps

Why make it hard on yourself? Use a PPTC-9.

You could do what I did years ago. Buy one PPTC-9, open it up and make a dozen clones. It is just match the color code and done.

From Toshiba:

Modular |Color | DB9

1-- RD |White | --5
2-- TD |Black | --1
3-- DSR |Red | --6
4-- DTR |Green | --4
5-- CD |Yellow | --2
6-- SG |Blue | --3

Use Crossed (Flipped) 6 wire cable!

You can do what I did; push pins onto serial port directly, so if it doesn't work, you won't need a pin-extractor.

OK; another Toshiba DOC shows the pinout for a PPTC-9 with the RED and GREEN (RD/TD)crossed, and the YELLOW and BLUE (DTR/DSR)crossed.

And the one I used today is wired differently (at least the colors are different). I openened it up to see;

RJ11 - color - DB9
1 --- Bue ----5
2 -- Yellow---1
3 -- Green ---4
4 --- Red ----6
5 -- Black ---3
6 -- White -- 2

I used it with a 6 wire crossed cord
