I posted this earlier as Abert67, but when I received a new PC, I couldn't remember my password. I tried to do a search to see if others have had this problem, but the search doesn't seem to be working. I get a "page not found" error.

Anyway, I have a couple of questions on the paging. However, a little background. First, using #39, it appears that we are using External paging+all call, rather than internal paging, so we have paging zones (Z1=Hospital=#35; Z2=Manor=#36; Z3=All=#39), rather than Paging Groups. Also, the phones having difficulty are Digital phones, and on 2 separate cards. One is a 3020S-D, and the other is a 2020S-D.

The 3020 was working until a few months ago, and we can't find anything in our change record that should have affected it. I swapped out another phone, and that didn't seem to help. In comparing this phone/port to two others that have no problems, I discovered that Pgm 31, LED10, which says, "All Call PAge Allowed - EKTs/DKTs", was set to on for the two comparison ports, but off for the problem port. I tried to set it to ON, and my display on the 2020 said the port for the 3020 had been programmed. But when I went back in to check it, the LED was set to off again.

Now, here's another anomaly. When Reception paged me, I heard it on the 2020, so I thought everything was okay, but when the Administrator's Admin Assistant paged me, it did NOT come across on the 2020, but it DID come across on the speaker outside of the server room.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you press hold after making changes in programming to save the changes. Also, if they are zone paging, check prog *31 to put the phones in the correct zone.

Correction, program *31 is for group paging and not zone paging.

So, is this resolved or do you still have good reason to scratch your head?

No, this problem is still elusive. As Bob Robert noted, the *31 program didn't help. I'm planning to swap the port and see if that helps, but I can't do that until Wednesday when the boss is out of the office. Any other ideas?

I wish we had a legend that said you must post your system type OR ELSE. It would make things much easier.

Taking a guess of what you might have, in Program 31 you want LED #10 ON for all stations you want to receive a page. Program 31, LED 10 is for RECEIVING a page.

Dialing #35 and #36 will get you to outside horns or ceiling speakers NOT to individual phones, NO phones.

Dialing #39 will get you all the outside horns or ceiling speakers in #35, #36 and all the stations that have LED 10 ON in Program 31.

If this does not work, reinitialize ONLY Program 5 using Program 90. Do not reinitialize all programs, only Program 5.

Sorry, Bunnie. I thought I had put the system information in my previous post. I must have just imagined that. We have a DK424 system. And, thanks for the additional information. I will try what you suggested, and let you know what happens.

Excuse the bad eyesight, it was there, in the topic, above the posts, in dark blue on green. I don't find that easy to see but it is there and I apologize.

It would be cool if there was a plain text box at the top that asked everyone to list the equipment for which they need help. It is so easy to find work for other people.

I do assume that you can hear volume on the two phones when making speakerphone calls. If that volume was turned all the way down, the paging announcement would be all the way down too and that setting is in the ksu so any phone you tried there would be the same volume.

Just a thought have you looked at pgm 30? If this is setup you can only have 120 telephones in a group and it will mess with your groups if you start adding phones. Just a thought.
