I have an LG VX-9900 with service from Verizon Wireless. Service in and around the Boston area is pretty good. Few dropped calls. I do text and subscribe to V Cast. I don't have Email or Internet though.

This topic is an oxymoron, no such thing as a decent cell phone. There whole industry is allowing a substandard level of acceptibility.

This in turn, allows CG's to push into service voip systems that adhere to above reliability standards.

As I've said before, when you throw Nyquist out the door, you get what you deserve.

I agree. But as long as we keep buying the crappy service it will take a while to improve, if it ever does.

For my part, I had a RAZR for 2 years. Dropped it three times and the darn thing just kept working. I wss kinda hoping it would so I would have an excuse to get something else. Why, I had trouble reading the letters on the dialpad. I recently bought a Samsung A737. The letters on the dialpad are BRIGHT yellow. Works good. Sold the RAZR to a teenager at work.

I am also using the LG VX-9900 with Verizon Wireless and have not had any trouble. It's not the best phone I've ever had, but the service is just fine. I haven't had any dropped calls in the 15 months that I've had it. The best phone that I've ever had was the Motorola Startac (5868W) with Verizon Wireless. They won't allow them to be activated anymore since they don't have e911/GPS capabilities.

I've gone through 2 models of Motorola phones (V325i and now W385) in a year. The call quality is fine, but the battery life is horrible. For me that's the most important thing. I probably send too many text messages laugh
