Thanks phonemeister, that worked. Since I am already using x501-x503 for some other port, I assigned 104-107 to x497-500 and changed smdi_base_port to 497. That worked. Thanks a lot.
When I dial 500 I get the correct message 'Enter Security Code'.
So, I guess the software version on this system does not support port 900.
