Every time I pick up the phone on any line, I get a stuttering dial tone. Since it happens on all lines, I don't think it is a message. It stutters once every time I pick up a line. Any idea why that would happen? I think it started when I removed the delay in dialing. I removed the delay under trunk assignment by setting immediate cut-through to enable. There are some side effects, such as losing the redial button and call restrictions, but I don't mind.
My system is a CTX 100 with software version AR3.10 MK043.00.

I should not have Verizon voicemail. My emergency phone does not have the stuttering dial tone. There is no voicemail system on my toshiba system.
Later I will update my profile.

I am agast to suggest changing the programming back to where it was before you put your fingers to the buttons, but that would be a real life test.
It could be an encriped .wav file that alerts the FBI to record the call. :toothy:

In my experience, the stuttering dial tones only mean two things.
1) The single line port has DND activated 2) There was a MW set from either a voicemail or another extension.
Usually, its #2 and it was quite frequent for me because most customers are not used to pressing Intercom 9 before dialing an outgoing number.
Lets say, you have an extension 207 but somehow, someone did not press the Intercom 9, but dialed his client's number straighaway: 207733425
So, the fourth digit, which is a "7" activates a MW on extension 207 instead. I then used Int#409 to clear it.

I turned off the messaging feature, so I assume it is not a MW from voicemail or another extension. I get the same stuttering dialtone from every phone.
It was suggested that I could get rid of that immediate cut-through which gave me the stuttering dialtone. I like being able to dial immediately.

Stutter dial tone doesn't have anything to do with immediate cut-through, or vice versa, but I am at a loss as to why you have it on all phones. Like was said before, it is usually for a message waiting condition, whether analog or digital phone, or for when the phone is in the DND mode, just to remind the user that it is. Make sure that stutter dial tone is disabled in eManager, under Advanced > Stations, and then make sure you disable DND for all the phones.

It could be SYSTEM CALL FORWARD. We had this in our office once, and it puzzled us. Disabled the call forward and no more stutter dial tone. But our case was only on 1 extension. Even with the stutter dial tone, you CAN dial immediately.

My system call forward is disabled.
The stuttering dial tone only started when I enabled immediate cut-through. When I diable it, the stuttering dial tone goes away. The problem is that I like being able to dial immediately.
I hope this is clear.
