I'm looking for the BOIS (firmware) upgrade for our DK424. My software version shows RBA3X2T, which I have been told is older version 2. Looking for 4 or higher.

This will be a chip that you are looking for and will reuire you to do a full back-up before adding the chip then you will be able to restore the back-up. This is best accomplished by using DK Admin. Toshiba doesn't support this platform and I don't believe you can get the upgrade chips from them anymore. I can suggest eBay or maybe you could do an search? Have you tried your local dealer?

My understanding is that you will need to change out the whole RCTU card. I don't think you can do a chip upgrade from R2 to R4.

The last I checked (a few months ago) Toshiba was still selling R4.3 software. It would be nuts to stop selling software, I can understand them not composing newer software than 4.3, but there is no reason to deny customers the last available revision.
I see no reason to get a new cpu card either, people upgraded 280s to 424s with new chips, and you could go from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 (including intermediate revisions as 3.2 and 4.15 etc.)
Your favorite refurber probably has it in stock, they seem to have a way to get any software.

RBA3X2 is a release 3 processor. If you want to go up to release 4 you'll just need to upgrade the ROM chips on the processor.
