It could be that the time it takes for them to hand up the phone, then press the button, a port freed up.
If the hunt group was set to auto campon, they should just get ring back tone until a port was free.

Have you gotten around to checking the 'Display DN' for all vm ports?

Yeah - I did post it up a bit. The display Dn is the pilot VM port for all VM ports.
