Hello,
I work for a non-profit organization and am looking for a new phone system. I have posted a message on the Panasonic thread (see link: https://www.sundance-communications...b/get_topic/f/9/t/001511/p/1.html#000000

I want to get your opinion as to whether I should go with the Toshiba CIX 100 or the Panasonic KX-TDA 30 system.

Thanks in advance!
Nelson

You might want to look at the CIX 40. It's tailor made for small businesses, and has the capability of 6 lines and a bunch of extensions (I can't remember how many - it sucks getting old....), plus voice mail. I think it would be better than the CIX 100!

CIX 40 comes configured for 3x8x1 with caller ID included. You can add expansion cards to give you 6x16x2. PLUS add a 4 port voicemail card and even better, this system will support 8 IP ports (either trunks or stations)! I don't do much with dollars, but I think its pretty cost effective.

Now available Voicemail Programmer Kit to program your Toshiba Voice Mail across your network.

Based on your comment that the pricing is close to equal I would go with the Toshiba CIX 100. I believe getting the most for your $$$ and in comparison the Toshiba is way out in front. Just look at the trunking and voicemail limitation the Panasonic has in comparison. The Toshiba product is here to say and some folks aren't too sure what Panasonics long term goals are.
To me it's a no-brainer.

CIX 40? The salesperson I dealt with only told me about the Toshiba CIX 100, even though I repeated told him I'm from a small non-profit organization and have limited budget.

Could you guys tell me more about the functions of the CIX 40, and how it compares to the CIX 100? Does the CIX 40 support automated attendant, voicemail integration and call monitoring?

Thanks in advance!

Restating what was posted:
The CIX 40 has a Maximum capcity of:
16 Digital Phones
2 Analog ports
6 Co analog trunks with built in Caller ID
4 Port Voicemail
8 Voice over IP Phones

Modems for remote maintainance are included.

Basic system starts with 8 phone, 1 analog port, and 3 CO trunk lines.

The voicemail does auto attendant and softkeys on phones display voicemail fuctions. I can't remember maximum recording capcity, but it is usually enough for most businesses.

Not sure what call you want to monitor. Neither the 40 or 100 can easedrop on a call ( you can barge into a live call if programed). Only the CIX 40 can monitor the recording to the voicemail box live (Call screening). You can also record a call to voicemail.

Also, to get simular voicemail integration with the CIX 100, you need to add a serial card (BSIS). You still won't get voicemail softkeys with the basic voicemail; IVP8.

The CIX 100 can expand to much higher capacity and use Digital trunks. Otherwise, the fuctionallity is pretty much the same with both.

I would go toshiba, we sell both toshiba ,and panasonic. The Toshiba is more complex to program but is much more powerful. The ip phones work far better that panasonics. The panasonic is a basic system.
