Hey fellas/ladies, Although I am a field tech, I lack the knowledge to explain why speakerphone conversations on our phones seem as though they are operating at half-duplex. Is it because of the proximity of the microphone and the feedback generated? Our phones are advertised as fullduplex but I still experience the same problem with phones on the CIX that I thought were confined to the dkt-2000 series. Do conference phones utilize a special chip and software to help with the echo and mic fade dilemma? If so, unless Im wrong about the 3000 phones, how would this technology be incorporated into the Toshiba speakerphone? I would ask tech support but they keep records and would probably bump me down the line for further help.

I use a full duplex DKT2020FDSP in my office. I sometimes can't use the full duplex because of that very reason. It is hooked up to a CIX 40. And, no, I don't know the fix for this! Sorry!

Dumb question but is the phone in a stand that has a lip on it or a "cradel" it sits on?
another is --- Have you taken the phone apart and cleaned the dust out of the mic and speaker?
Just stuff I have run into in the past, echo and all that was caused by the mic being coverd by a stand support lip . Another was at a local TV station that the phone was full of dust in the conference room, I cleaned it out and stopped the echo .
Not sure if it'll help.
Good Luck

I am not sure about this too but all DKT phones, apart from the DKT2020FDSP, are all in half-duplex. And the mic can be a pain sometimes when it picks up background noise like the aircon or someone else's radio while you're talking hands-free. So, I usually tell the customer that its more polite to talk after the other party has stopped talking.........

Mr. Engineer is right. All our Digital Phones (except the 2020-FDSP) are half-duplex speakerphones.

Is this problem isolated to toshiba phones or does it exist on all other brands as well?

I wouldn't classify it as a problem. The literatures do say that, except for the DKT2020FDSP, the DKTs are half-duplex.

The literatures do say that, except for the DKT2020FDSP, the DKTs are half-duplex. VoIP and half duplex have nothing to do with one another. I was going to add to the site but you have been around awhile just not many post.
