I have stepped into a mess with a DK424. The customer has a Tel electronics call accounting box that recieves SMDR, a printer attached to the Tel box, and a PIOUS. The setup according to them has never worked. The Tel box is sending info to the Parallel printer just fine. However, I don't think the SMDR is wired correctly to the PIOUS. The Tel device says it needs no hankshaking just continuous SMDR data. Do I need to strap pins together from the PIOUS to achieve this? I think I've got all the programming straight. the baud rates are set to 1200. I can't find in the manual what the DK needs(for wiring to the PIOUS) to send continuous data to the TEL box.

welcome to the board. Please read "Rules and how to use Tech Talk Forum" taking special note to Terms of Service (TOS). :read:

The technicians on this board take great pride in their profession and offer the benefit of their many years of experience to help other members. As expected, they do however deserve to know who is asking them for certain types of information. Additionally any falsification of the information contained in a Member's Profile can also be grounds for permanently banning the Member, not just the member name. With that said lets proceed to assist you!

The easiest way is to hook up your laptop to the SMDR port of the PIOUS card and turn on Hyperterm and see if the 424 is sending you the raw data.
Use the lower of the two RJ connectors on the top of the card.
Use Pgm 76, Pgm 60 for setting SMDR.
There is a baud rate switch on the card between 300 and 1200.

Hopefully Jules or someone who knows the TEL box will jump in and assist.
