I have a DK424 system in our office. Recently, incoming calls dropped frequently. I used DKi Admin software to view the data and got the message "Multiple bit ECC errors in row1". I used 91-2 to restart the system but the situation is still the same. Can anyone tell me that if I turn off the power of the system and turn it on again, will all the programmed data be lost?

Depends on the on board battery/cap if its working properly you should be able to recycle power without loosing programing.
The bad thing is you wont know until you recycle.
If it were me I'd fill out the record sheets before recycling.

I don't see how recycling the power more than once going to solve your problem. Incoming calls drop frequently from the trunk side? Try to provide more information about your problem.

When the phone is ringing and we pick up the phone, sometimes the call dropped immediately and sometimes the call dropped after we spoke for a while. This happened quite frequent in the past few weeks. Actually I am a novice of managing phone system. For recyling the power, I just hope to clear the error message "Multiple bit ECC errors in row1" and to see whether it can help to improve the situation. Please advice.

Could be a hookswitch problem or with the trunks. Did you have your vendor look at the problem. I'd suggest doing that if you haven't already.

Our vendor who set up the system for us two years ago has already disappeared. That is why we try to solve the problem by us first.

Try the installers link above for someone close to give you Toshiba service.

First off the error your receiving is a Memory error more than likely with your PC/Laptop. Now lets try and eliminate possibilities, like; Is it any phone this is happening on or just the receptionists?
Is it only incoming calls?
What kind of telephone lines do you have, are they copper "Pots" lines?
Are they "Digital" PRI or T-1 lines?
What number are people calling? an 800 number? a LD number?
A DID number?
As stated prior is is usually the telephone line provider that has an issue with its service or line quality that causes incoming only line issues. A vendor would be able to test your lines for you and help determine what and who's issue it may be.
You'll need to take these and maybe more steps to troubleshoot your issue if your not going to get a telephony professional involved.

Or it could easily be a hookswitch issue if it is limited to only a few stations. Bottom line is you need to get someone out there who knows what they are doing to do some basic troubleshooting. Start keeping track of which extensions and which lines this is occurring on.

There are 5 analog lines connected to our phone system with hunting service. Calls being dropped happened in the following situation. When call comes in, the system prompts the called to press 8 to sales department, 5 to accounting department, 2 to purchasing department, and 0 to operator. When 0 is pressed, there are 5 phones ringing. Anyone can pick up one of these 5 phones to answer the call. Calls usually dropped for this group. No call has dropped for the sales department, accounting department and the purchasing department. So, most probably the problem is not coming from the phone line provider but is the phone system itself.
