Hi,

The small company I work for has an old Toshiba Strata DK16 telephone system. We currently have 4 analog lines as well as I believe 8 CO lines.

Is there any type of expansion cabinet or card that will allow us to have more analog ports??

I have looked at the KSTU but not sure if I am on the right track.

Thanks.

With an expansion cabinet and cards you can goto

8- co lines
8- digital sets
12- standard phones

A-pstu will give you 8- standard ports
the KSTU 4.
Them I would find a qualified installer to put this together and program it.

Thank you so much. Are the 12 standard lines considered analog?? I am trying to add one more analog device but have only 4 ports right now.

Hang on CN
When you say analog what are you talking about, a Fax or credit card machine or modem? Or are to talking about the Toshiba Phones? The reason I ask is EKT phones a analog phones where DKT phones a Digital. What are you trying to add?

CN e-mailed me earlier today. In his e-mail he references a KSTU and RSTU. I believe he is looking for standard analog ports. I'm sure there is no expansion cabinet.

I wrote back and told him pretty much what Ken said.

Thanks everyone. I am trying to add an answering machine (for whatever reason my company wants this instead of the voice mail system). anyway, from what you have all told me I need an expansion cabinet AND a RSTU card.

Hope this is right.

Can I just add the card or do I need both??

Thanks again all!!

Maybe I missed something. You can have a KSTU single line extension card in the DK16 base cabinet.

You would need a KRCU for touch tone dialing.

The KSTU would be in the bottom of the base cabinet and the single line pairs would be 19, 21, 23 and 25 of the 25 pair Amphenol cable. If you put a butt set on 19, 21, 23 or 25 and hear dial tone, you have four available analog (single line) extensions.

That would be the cheapest way to get 4 single line extensions and you would need the KRCU for touch tone dialing out but if it was just ringing into an answering machine you could live without the touchtone card.
