Does anyone have an idea on integrating the CIX to a Replay? It's a brand new CIX 100 going in, but the customer wants to keep their existing VM system. No one here has ever put Toshiba to anything but Toshiba or Teleco before.

Any takers?

The question would be how well will the older Reply intergrate with the CIX? I would think not so well unless they would be willing to upgrade the replay to the latest software and by the time you do that a Stratagy would be more inline.

How do you want to integrate it? DTMF? SMDI? It will take a while to get all the integration codes programmed. Do you have the programming manual for the Replay? Have you talked to AIC in Norcross? They will probably tell you Toshiba and Teleco but their techs are capable of integrating a CIX to another voicemail given a reasonable amount of labor/research time. The money/time involved may make the existing voicemail less desirable.

As an alternative, if the customer wants to keep their existing messages:
1) Assuming analog ports, connect the Replay to the CIX via analog ports and install a new Toshiba VM card
2) Program Call Record button on CIX
3) Customer can log into Replay and check messages while recording them to the Toshiba VM.

Try everything you can do to convince them that it's not a good idea to keep the Replay. However, to answer your question, it may be possible to make it work if the Replay is currently integrated via inband to a DK280 or higher and supports the F command in the integration options in the Switch Setup screen. The oldest Active Voice that I was able to integrate the CTX with is a Repartee DOS. The Replay is similar. PM me. There's a good chance it might work, but no guarantees.

I love the idea of upgrading too. I makes since, new phone system, new VM.

The old phone system is a DK96. DTMF integration was the thought, but hey, if duct tape and silicone will work I'll go that way.

I currently do not have the replay manual, but I hope to resolve that today, and test some tonight.
