Hello all, I've got a client with an issue from years gone by.....
They're experiencing a "talk-off" sort of phenomenon where the caller's message gets clipped during the last few seconds.
It’s a 4-port IVP8 in a DK-40i. Nothing unusual about the config, straight forward 4x8 box.
None of the other 10+ of these I’ve got installed ever experience this….
As a side note, I had considered line noise, etc, as there’s a contractor ripping into the nearby streets as a new building is being erected.

Does this happen to every message on every mailbox? There is a maximum message length that is programmed for every mailbox, not sure what the default is but im sure someone here does. Also might want to check the system status for how much disk space is open.

I think the default recording time is 180 sec. If this is the only box that is giving you this trouble I would try deleting and recreating the box.

Thanks for the reply. It's a 3 man operation there, relatively little use & plenty of disk space. I've got the trace running to see when, where & how often it happens. The default message length is 3 minutes & most callers are not that long winded....

There is also a timer that listens for silence. If you don't talk for 3 or 5 seconds (or whatever its set for), it assumes you are done and stops recording. Just one more thing to check.......

Thanks Voyager. I had considered that too but hadn't had the opportunity to match it with other systems yet. ...off to do some late night snooping...

What rev level is your IVP8 I believe if you update it that will take care of your problem. Just check FYI for the update

Looks like you have rev 2 hardware with 1.0 software. You can upgrade the software to 2.05. Last time I called tech support about possible cut-off messages, they said 1st thing to do is upgrade your software.
If you have UADMIN2.1 it comes with a software upgrade that also covers DST updates.
