Can someone provide the informaiton on " how to gain access to the auto attendant mode" of my DK 40i system. I need to be able to change the systems greeting message form time to time. I have (4) of the manuals, but darn, they're hard to understand and there is no info about the auto attendant programming. Thanks for any and all help! :bang:

welcome to our little community.

There are several different voicemail systems that will work on the Toshiba. First we would need to know what voicemail system is attached to your DK40i.

Is there an expansion cabinet attached to the left side of the DK? If there is, look inside for a Stratagy DK Card or an IVP8 card. Or look for an external PC attached to the system.

No matter what kind of system it is, you'll find someone on this board able to assist you.

OK, lets assume its a Toshiba voicemail. By default, mailbox 990 is the one that goes off hook and answers the phone. Dial the VM pilot number (usually 850,600,500...). When the VM answers, log into MB 990 and follow the prompts to change the greetings. If you need password information, you can PM me as security codes are not discussed in the open forum.

Let us know what you find....

Dan

Voyager, Thanks for your quick reply. The password info would be of great help. The phones and voicemail part of the system is Toshiba DKT-2020-SD. I have 5 incomming lines and 10 internal office lines. These are the (4) manuals that I have with the system, 1) User Guide, 2)Digital Telephone User Guide, 3)System Administrator Guide, 4) Standard Telephone User Guide. Thanks again for the reply, any and all information would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Rudie

You will also have to record in 991 also , 990 is "thank you for calling abc company". 991 is where you would record the rest of the greeting.

That is if the voicemail is a Stratagy/Toshiba product

Keep looking. DKT2020-SD is the model number of the actual phone set. We're looking for the VoiceMail......

Thanks to ALL, I appreciate the photos and the information. I'll have to do a little moving to get access to the mechanical room to have access to the Strata 40i cabinet. I haven't noticed the voice mail box, but there's tight quarters to squeeze into to get to the cabinets. My 240 is like slipping a camel through the eye of a needle.

Thanks again,

Rudie

With 40 years of technical, electronic, and electromechanical trouble shooting experience, what is the best and shortest way to obtain the qualification to work on and service these type of phone systems? This appears to be something that I think I might like to get into. I think it might be easier on my 60 year old body as it gets older,God willing. Where should I start looking in my endeavors.

Thanks again to ALL,

Rudie
