Anyone seen this error before:

VB Script

Failed to connect to CIX/CTX, 192.168.10.254: ERROR_COULD_NOT_CONNECT_TO_CALL_AGENT

Any ideas how to fix it?

I have seen that error before when my admin pc is not in the same ip range as the CIX or when there is no connectivity between the two. Usually when I do something stupid so check the obvious.

Agreed^^^

Usually an IP renew/repair will cure that.

If it's a direct connect, make sure you flip 1/2+3/6

I had the customer check the IP address of the PC and the 3rd quartet matches the 3rd quartet of the phone system. She was able to get in on Tuesday, but not on Wednesday.

Does the customer have the admin software on any other computer, or are you able to remote IP in?

Is the customer running eMGR 5.10, or an older version?

I have gotten that exact error code before and it was always an IP or patch cord related issue.

Or they have a Stratgy ES or IES and the admin port is locked up. Ping the 192.168.10.254, then reboot if it pings ok.
If ping timeout then check connection and usual stuff.

I see that error all the ime now when the IP addy is wrong or no connection. I think they just changed the old error message.

Really?

I have never had a VM lock-up cause a CIX/CTX to lock-out the admin computer... but as always, you learn something new everyday!

I never even thought about that at all.

I have seen it with least 10+ different locations, when using a Stratagy ES or IES 16/32. Have to reboot the system to fix it. It happens to the same ones every few months. Voicemail softkeys stop working at the same time.

It occures when you use SMDI throught the LAN. They supposedly have it fixed on the latest software, but ver 3.10MK050+ for the older prcessor is still not on FYI. You can get it on their suppport site.

What is worse, is sometimes when it is locked up, I go into phone programming to check the IP at PRG 916, and the system reboot by it's self. At least the problem was fixed after that.
