Working on an old install of a dk280 one of the users just set up a new mailbox. Everything works fine but the message light does not go on with new messages. I have so far - Int #656 (ext#) 2 Redial
Int #657 9 (ext#) Redial
To get to the voice mail you can dial 9 and the extension and it takes you to the voice mail box of the user. The voicemail system is an Active Voice Repartee v 7.47 Any ideas would be great could it be something in the way the phone is programed I had to reprogram a speed dial key on the phone with program 39 Thank you Tony

Check the notify tables in the voicemail.

Is the lamp on and lamp off fields correct? Go to Switch Setup and make sure it's #63,X for lamp on and #64,X for lamp off.

I will check these tomorrow. But I think they are set right as they worked for the other person who used this office and phone. I will check and verify.
Thank you

If you're problem is just with one user, then log into that user's mailbox and delete or archive all new messages. Then leave a new message for that user and see if the lamp comes on.

first things first. put a test set on the notify port and make sure can do it manually by #63ext. If you can, the issue is with the vm. If you can"t, there is an issue with the dkt port. Check the lcd for an entry that has anything to do with messaging. For example: mesg sent xxx(xxx is extension) If you do, press intercom and dial that number followed by 77.

The extra comma is just a pause and should not be needed although it won't harm the dial string.
