I've been trying to use emailnotify on new message, but it looks as if Stratagy completely disregards the Title/Event and variable under the Notify tab and just looks at the E-Mail Account field under the UM tab. Is this normal? Also, is there a way to notify multiple e-mail addresses for one mailbox? I would assume this could be done with the EmailNotify event and variable, but like I said, that doesn't seem to be working.

Looking forward to any insight on this issue.

Thanks,

Justin

The email notify template and UM have nothing to do with each other. If you have UM enabled, disable it.

Enable the email notify, title is (obviously) emailnotify, event should be normal message and the email address in the variable field. If you have problems, run Stratagy Trace to see whats goin on with it.

To send to multiple addresses, you need to set up a distribution list at the email server that will send out to multiple addresses, then point the emailnotify to the address of the distribution list.

Rino, did what you said, disabled UM on the box, set the EmailNotify and variable to the correct e-mail address, but I'm not receiving an e-mail when a messages is left in that box. I tried to run Trace and it will not open properly. The tab is at the bottom of the desktop, but I'm not getting the white window like normal. I just tried reinstalling Stratagy Administration console, but Tracer will still not run. Any ideas there?

Right-click on the Trace tab on the toolbar and select maximize, sounds like its running but minimized.

Make sure the iES32 is connected to the network and all IP info is correct including DNS. Make sure the email is not being filtered out somewhere.

Thats why Stratagy Trace is important here so that you can verify that the email is being sent. This will narrow down your area to troublshoot.

Also make sure you are running the latest ES software. 4.707 I think. There was a recent fix for this sort of thing although I'm not sure of the specifics.

Email notify and email delivery of the voice messages are two different things. Do you want to notify the user via an email message or cellphone text that he/she has a new message, or do you want to email the actual messages as a .wav attachment to the user's email inbox?

I just want to be able to notify the user that they have a new message...

In response to Rino's 2nd message, I got Tracer working, opened it up, sent a message to that box and never did see anything about SMTP come up. All I saw in tracer was it trying to set MsgLampOn.

We want to be able to alert by e-mail of a new messages because we've got a support ACD group and if someone leaves a message in that box and everyone is offsite, we need to be able get that message ASAP. I guess I'll have to have UM turned on. That only makes sense, though. I'll just have to rework the logic on alert mechanism.

Thanks for everyone's help!
