Although I have only seen the 2400 in action.

This may be premature.

2400 for the win

Considering I had installed the Toshiba CIX670 for a while, it is a solid system with many features at the users disposal.

I am currently the administrator of an SV7000 with many remote sites. The consensus from most of my users is they don't like the phone system at all. Most of them though had used the Avaya system before coming to work here.

I've been in the business for a long time, if I had the chance to pick which system my company would use it would have been the Tadiran IPX system or the Coral Seasoft switch.

Your search shouldn't be for a generic type of system but for a system that will give you a solution to the needs of your business.
Too many times people buy on name brand recognition, or on price and don't bother to see what they are buying. If your interested in purchasing a system that takes care of your needs you will have to investigate and research first your own company and it's needs, and then the vendors. I say vendors purposely in that all Toshiba Dealers aren't equal, nor are the other companies in your line of business equal.
You need to take a look at staff, certifications, recent installations, vendor policies, years in business, ....etc.
Don't take anything for industry standard, VoiP isn't a standard feature, ACD isn't a standard feature....you get the point. Ask questions, ask for a live demo, ask to visit the last 5 installs, visit the vendor first thing in the morning and observe.
Again, investigate your options and do the research and you'll end up making the right choice.

You cann't even put those two system close to each other. NEC 2400 is a 25,000 ports PBX. Usually that system get Installed at Collage Campuses or huge Manufactures. Toshiba is a medium size PBX and cann't be competing against.
NEC 2400 usually a choice between Definity and Nortel Options.

VAD,

NEC 2400 used in the capacity of what the poster wants to use it as would fall short of competing with the Toshiba 670 from a user standpoint.

NEC shoots themselves in the foot when it comes to this.

Their IPS2000 and IVS2000 also falls short of the feature rich Toshiba 670. I would take a Toshiba over an NEC 2400 or IPS2000 anyday of the week and twice on Sunday. Going a little further, I would take the Tadiran IPX system before both of these products. Just my two cents.

The NEC is by far better is every possible way.

Better how so? Just because it can grow to 25000 ports? Most of the guys I know that work and install the NEC systems admit the features and functionality are diminished because of the scalablity....
I have all the products that NEC has to offer at my location.

QueWRX
CCWrx
UM8500
SV7000
CCIS network
many IPS2000 remotes locations
IP phone (insasets)
Wygant Recorder

I'm sure I forgot something else here

If I had the chance to decide on what product we had it surely wouldnt be this one. I wouldn't use the metal from this system to use as a boat anchor.

Hey Mr. Tadiran,
I don't know anything about Tadiran system but I know little about Toshiba and NEC. You probably never saw NEAX2400 Feature list. I would suggest you to take a look. Then I would like you compare Toshiba with NEC2400. I was learning NEAX2400 in 1993 and at that time it was unbelivably feature rich. Since then I haven't touch 2400 but I am working with Elite and IVS 2000. It is amazing product.
