Hi all, I picked up a refurb ctx100 to fiddle with in the shop to get familiar with programming spare parts etc after I picked up a new customer that has the same switch.
I have the Emanager program and I "think" I set up everything correctly in the equipment editor with the default IP & password, crossover cable etc. but when I try to log in I get no response from system but I can ping it from the command prompt, so I'm starting to wonder if the password wasn't defaulted, is there a way to default the system through hardware by either pulling the battery or something.
Also, I was able to log into the new customer months ago and I may have to do some programming there in the near future but I would like to brush up on he programming before I go out there.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes pulling the battery strap will default the CPU. If you have a SM card in the slot with a valid backup on it, it will load that backup upon first boot.

There is no cut-off. You can use Emanager for CTX and CIX.

CCEJIM Shawn is correct, you can use eMnager as well as Network eManager on CTX and CIX platforms, as there is no cutoff.

Ver 3.xx is when they jumped from CTX Winadmin to eManager.
I have seen people use WinAdmin on 3.10 systems, but get occational errors. EManager was design to be backwards compatable, but I have heard stories of it being a little buggy on real old versions, like 1.02.
If you pull the baterry and reload the database from the backup (SM or SD card) then I think it would likely restore the passcodes too. If the backup card is left out, then it will default and install the cards that are plugged into the system.

In the equipment editor you set the I.P. address and community of the CIX you are logging into. Then in classes set up you select a user and assign that equipment to the user. Then you can select the system to log into. The "password" of the CIX is ****.
Edited: A little too much info for the public. Besides, he's not asking for the p/w.
