We have noticed a problem when remotely recording greetings in mailboxes 990 and 991 on our CIX40s. The volume is extremely quiet wnen remotely recording the greetings, but is normal when recording from the site.
We have tried recording from different phones, headsets, sites, ISDN vs. POTS. No luck. It doesn't matter if the site has ISDN or POTS either.
Has anyone run across this? Are there any adjustments that can be made in the Pad tables?

I think just the pad table is all you have to raise volume remember reverse is higher volume did you go the wrong way in the pad table. How is a regular voice conversation?

Is the system grounded ? There was a problem with sound quality on either the CIX 40 or the CTX 28 voicemails, and grounding the system helped. Is it only 990 and 991 ?

Freshfitz - we have tried the pad tables with no noticable change. I'll check again on the next install. A regular conversation is fine.
Steve - I have grounded the systems, but I don't know if it is a good ground or not... I guess we have only noticed 990 and 991 because they are the only mailboxes that we change remotely. The individual users change their messages locally. My assumption would be that any other mailbox would have the same problem. I'll test and report back.

We've recorded remotely for years, but it was never this noticable. I would say it got this bad in the past year or so.
We have determined that it affects all mailboxes, not just 990 and 991. :bang:

I have noticed that the new series of Stratagy VM's have lower volume overall, as compared to older models such as Stratagy DK, IVP8, and IES16/32.
The problem is magnified to a very noticable level when performing recordings from offsite.

I used the pad tables and cured the problem. I amplified the voice mail ports as sender, with digital stations and analog trunk ports as the receivers.
I went with -3 value which is actually a 3db increase in volume.
Worked perfect. To do it, you can assign the voice mail DN's into a group, or on latest software there is already a group for voice mail ports.

Are there dip switches inside the 40's like the rcou. I think they have to do with db levels too.
