Two Questions:
1. Is it possible to announce name after entering extension through AA?

2. Upon pressing the message waiting button, i have to wait for the system to ask me to enter my password before i enter it. Is there a way that I can enter password quicker. The delay is driving my client crazy.

1-No. You can have it say "please hold while transfer your call" that's it.

2-Change to SMDI integration. It's much faster.

We had the voicemail replaced. The customer claims that he was able to enter his password right away on the previous voicemail, also a IVP8.

What happens now when your customer hits his msg button? Does he get prompted for a password after a few second delay? If so, what p2ii said will take care of your problem. There are 2 types of vm integration, DTMF and SMDI. SMDI uses a serial port on the processor to communicate directly to the vm system and is much faster than the DTMF type. Correctly set up using SMDI integration, your customer will get prompted for a password instantly after pressing his msg button. If your customer doesnt get prompted at all for a password, you have NO integration set up or set up incorrectly.

Since the card is in the system and not external, I can only assume that this is setup as SMDI since there is no serial port involve. How can one tell? Yes he gets prompted after a delay.

If it is set up for SMDI there will be a 6 conductor base cord coming off of the voicemail, if there is a lond delay it isn't SMDI.

Btw, you can have it announce the name after punching in the extension. But it involves token programming.

Token programming is the voicemail's way of getting it to do various things that it doesn't do "out of the box". In your situation, a token like this: @P(U)F-XXXH would work for you. If that doesn't make sense to you then you'll want to have a Toshiba tech come out and do that for you.
