I have a customer that has a CTX 100 and wants to have a light come on when the ext. is called.
the customer is a church and the light is to go into the sound booth. The reason is because the person in the sound room can't always hear the phone ring.
So can i use an RSTU and use that T&R voltage to trip a light? If not an RSTU is there any card that would work? Thanks in advance

If a RSTU gives you single line cabability yes. Use a Bee hive lamp at station. Match ring voltage of T/R. Mike Sandman has the bases and you have to buy the bulbs seperate. You have to tell them the voltage you want. You will have to turn the audible ring off at station.

You could buy a DP-5000 series Toshiba phone. They have a light built in the unit its self. ![[Linked Image from voipmonitor.net]](https://www.voipmonitor.net/content/binary/Toshiba_IP5000_Series.jpg) Even though the phone pictured is an IP series, they have the same structure, with the light on the top right.

You would have to be on the correct software version, 5.x to use the DP-5000. We used to have these lights on our phones but I can't remember if it came on when ringing or when just in use. Let me poke around the office and see if we have any left that I can test out.

If you are looking to add a analog port. Toshiba has a two port card (ASTU) that mounts on the left side of the cabinet and does not use a slot. Programs to virtual slot 09. Then you could use and analog phone w/light or analog triggered light and digital phone. Hopes this helps!
PS R1.3 or higher

You can light a light directly off of the phone without using an RSTU if you have a BHEU / HHEU in the phone and a HESC cable to connect it to. If you would like a drawing let me know I will send it to you. Numerous installs on a system for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

What about having that drawing posted to the FAQs above, that would be very nice.
