Hello to all..if I use one of our phones and I want to make an announcement that will be hear through every phone in the building I simply hit "#39" and then I start talking....this works great with no problems... however is there a way so that when I want to make an announcement, first a loud "beep" sound will be send to every phone in the building as an "attention getter"?...after the beep I would start talking making the announcement. Please let me know how I can make this possible, it would be of HUGE help. Thanks a lot :-)

There are several ways to do it , it would depend on what type of paging you have.

It's not possible to have a splash tone when you do an all call page over the phone sets.

phonemeister is correct. it will only work over the external page, with some extra equipment like steve referenced. You may want to check out this Viking product -> FBI-1A

But then he'll have to do the page twice. One for the DKT sets and again for the external page since the external page unit cannot be included in the all-call or group page.

Look at a PI-DKT made by Page Industries. Connect to a DKT port and set for voice announce with HFA warning tone enabled (default). This would work for the overhead page with a warning tone (just dial that ext. #). If you put them all in a page group you will not get a warning tone.
