i installed a 28 a week ago, and it's unable to put ppl on hold for about 10 min's then it was able to again.

they are also saying different phone's are have static once in awhile, but only will last for one are 2 calls.

any help would be great, o yea i have call jumping enabled and if they do that to put a call on hold it drops the call all together??

Did you initailize the system before you installed it , and is it grounded ? Is the static on CO lines ? You might want to make sure the cards are all seated good. Have you tested this at the system ruling out the cabling.

system was clean when i started install so no i didnt reset everything. didnt look to see if all cards where seated as the GVMU is on and i have 2 heart beat led's ( one processor and other GVMU)

i will try those things though. the only thing i did that didnt work was try to make them pick up line 3-1st then 4 then 2 and last co to pick up for out going calls is there line one.

now that didnt work for me as line 1 still get's the first call. i set that up in program 310 are 300 where ever it is that you set that feature up at.

last they are saying that lines 2 and 3 when they can put ppl on hold (and i have the hold recall time set to 3 min's) it recalls in about 2 min's, they have timed it they say, and the other lines last 3 min's. dont understand that as that is a system wide program "system timers"

Anytime you do a new install you should ALWAYS initialize before you do anything. The hold recall timer can be set different for each station. Program 300 FB12 is the CO hunt order, if they dial "9" or you have there stations set to access a outside line when they go off hook

so the hold recall is in station att.'s? i thought it was under system timers. when i set the co's i used the program that lets you tell the system which line you want them to use (in a certian order)

on a 28 of course it's only 1-6. i would like it to work when they go off hook which is the way it is set up now. but even though i set line 3 to be the first one used for out going calls it still uses line 1

the main thing is the other day when the customer was unable to put ppl on hold. i have never ran across that before, and yes it would be nice to make the auto line pick up line 3 first.

Thank you very much for all your help so far!!!

If you want CO 3, when going off-hook - you must have it be the first CO that appears in order (from the bottom up) on the phone. In 204-14 set it for "CO key".

Your key-strip should layout something like this -

----
DND
All Page
-
-
VM-Trns
CID
CO1
CO2
CO3
Intercom
----

As Steve said too, anytime you install new - initialize. Also, VERIFY IT IS GROUNDED - especially on a 28. They tend to have odd problems (such as yours), when not grounded. 208-04 is the hold recall timer for the station.

Curious, what do you have 204-30, 200-39 and 300-14 set to? They shouldn't be part of your problem - just incase.

thanks and i will check those programs out monday. i didnt know that i had to make those lines appear like that on the phone, i thought that program 310 where you set the lines like 3=1, 4=2, 2=3, 1=4, 5=5, 6=6.

if that program does not do that then what is it used for?

and i dont have the system grounded but i will as soon as i get there on monday, and yawl are thinking that that may be the cause of my problems?

again thank you for all the help, I LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!
