Hello,
I've been doing basic admin work on our two CTX100's and our CTX670 for a couple of years now.
Recently I went to do some basic admin work on of the CTX100's (I need to change the display names on our phones), and I'm no longer able to connect, to the point where the computer or switch that I'm connecting it to doesn't even register that a cable has been connected.
Is there some software setting that could have disabled the network interface, or is it just completely dead in the water, so-to-speak?
If it's dead, will I have to replace the entire system, or can you get just the mainboard replaced?
Thanks in advance,
-Mathew Eis

to the board. What is the software level on the CTX100 that you can't connect to? There was one version that came out with a problem that would lock up the ethernet port. Is the link light on? Can you ping the system? Reset the system. See if that helps. If the interface is definately bad, you can replace the ACTU card, not the whole system. Start there and get back to us.

I've actually used this board as a resource for years, but this is the first time I've had to post.
I don't know the software version off the top of my head, except that it was an older one. We've had this system for about 6 years. I usually use CTX WinAdmin to work on it. I'm not sure if that gives you an indication of where it's at. Is it possible to check the version if you can't log into it?
The link light was certainly not coming up on the switch on the other end, and I don't believe the link light was coming up on the phone system; I will double check it when I get physical access later today.
I am not able to ping the system; In the past it's always used the default setup, and I've always been able to ping it at that IP.
I've reset the system a few times (via the front power switch, and unplugging it) with no results.
Thanks again!

The older ones that would lock up the netwprk interface , all you had to do was get into programing through a phone , enter a program number then exit programing and it would fix the problem. I would suggest you get into programing via a phone and check program 916(IP address) of the CTX , and see if that helps.

If it's the older ACTU1 processor with the AETS board, I've seen a couple of those go bad. You can replace just the ethernet board if this is the case. The ACTU2 processors have the NIC built-in.
If you can not connect and you've aready cycled power then the NIC may be bad. Make sure it is not your cable.
