i also have an ext. in the voice mail that will not notify a cell. it doesn't even try. i have my cell phone number in it and the temp. is active. i'm using the login temp. the ext (502) is only in the voice mail
it is used as an after hours box, and after a message is left there it should call the on call person's cell, but it does not. this is on a CTX 28 with GVMU

The GVMU does not have a built in modem like the GVPH and IVP8's. The following is from FYI....
"What type of modem do I use for the CTX28 GVMU for remote maintenance? Toshiba DSD has been able to test and verify two (2) models: 1. The Boca 14.4K 2. Zoom V32BIS"
Hope this helps
Try the Voice Home template first. When you leave a msg., watch the port status page and see if the GVMU is dialing out. Make sure you DISable the light on and light off templates.

hey Voyager i hope your doing well, and thanks for the post. This is what is happening, i have a box set up for people to leave an emergency message for a doc. then the VM should pick up and notify the doc of the message.
Problem is the 28 is not even trying to notify, when i pick up intercom and dial 9 i do not get a line at all. Even with that problem, when i watch the ports in the GVMU none of them try to go offhook to notify.
the mailbox is 501 and it is only built in the voice mail because i dont need it to ring anywhere so i didn't build a PhDN for it in the system. when called the caller can leave a message but it will not try to notify, even tho it says there is a new message in the box when i check it.
Thanks in Advance

well i just sent a message to 501 from another ext. in the voice mail and it worked like a champ. It called the doc and let her login and everything. ??? This system is strange ??? at one time it would not allow people to be put on hold. if you had a caller on the phone and hit the hold button all it did was beep, would not put them on hold. That problem only lasted 2 days on and off and never happened again.
Well if anyone would like to make any suggestions on what this system's problem may be i'd love to hear it.

I think I remember posting on this before , and I asked if you initailized the system before installing it ???? YOU SHOULD ALWAYS INITAILIZE. I would suggest you re-initailize the system and start from scratch.

There is one big problem there since the voicemail dials nine to get a line. You need to delete all lines that are not connected to a CO line. Don't be a lazy installer. It may seem minor but this could also prevent the user from dialing 911. I have seen this happen. I am not sure why it would even work on your last test. If you can not get a line by dialing 9 then the voicemail could not either.

Everything is working fine I’m not sure what the problem was. As I said b4 I sent a message to the mailbox that notifies and it did just what it was programmed to do.
The main reason for the post was trying to connect to the GVMU remotley and Voyager said that toshiba was only able to test 2 modems that would connect.
I am using voice mail manager and if anyone has a workaround for this please let me know. in the dial string for VM manager i tell it to use my modem instead of com 1 and i put the company's main number in followed by ,,,993. but as Voyager has told me the GVMU does not have a modem so i guess that is why it will not connect.
Again if anyone has any additional info please let me know. And Steve i did reinitailize the system and now have a good ground on it as well.

As far as the dialing "9" problem there is no need to delete the lines that are not used just set them for OLG "0".
