I have a CIX670, numbers follow:
Equipment Type: CIX670 : B--U
Equipment Version: AR5.20 MT022.00
VM Sofware Version: 5.5.26

I am having paging problems and want to shoot the wires first. Can someone tell me what to look at for paging configuration and where to begin with the wiring so that I can start in the computer room instead of the paging amp?

Thanx in advance!!

Michael

You need to figure out what in the CIX670 is providing the paging output to the amp. Typically there would be a card called a BIOU in the CIX to do this but it could also a trunk card RCOU providing the link. There are also a few other scenarios that could be taking place but we'll just start here. When you figure it out, thats your starting point.

BTW, what are the issues that you are having with the paging? That might help in diagnosing the problem.

Thanx for the fast response Travis!

The problem is humm and very low volume. I have an ancient Bogen 100Watt amp. When I disconnect the input jack from the amp the humm goes away. I disconnected all but one horn and still see the humm and LV. I want to eliminate the wiring before I replace the amp.

If the hum goes away when you unplug the input then you either have a bad feed from the KSU, bad wire between the KSU and amp or a grounding problem.

If it was built after 1980 don't expect it to work right.
