Looking for some help. I tried to logging to my Stratagy card today and encounter a series of issues. On the computer I have it connected to for a year without issue, suddenly I get the message "Stratagy isn't running or nothing connected or modem is turned off". Tried rebooting the system and the card, same message.
So I then tried taking a laptop, with a different cable into the server room, plugging it up to the switch and I get "no response for logon from stratagy".
I am using UADMIN21 to connect. Any ideas?

Make sure you are using the correct com port on your laptop, and make sure that you admin cable is plugged in to the correct port on the IVP8. I know that the admin port is different on the older models. I can never remember which port to use so I normally end up trying them both unless its integrated using SMDI and therefore has a PPTC installed on one of the ports, then I get it right the first time.......usually!

Well. I realized that I needed a null modem cable if I wanted to use the laptop, so I swapped it and it worked fine from the laptop. So the card and the cable are fine. It seems like it's an issue with the comm port on the server. Does it sound like a hardware issue? As far as I can tell the comm port looks fine in Windows.
