I have a strata DK16e.

it has CID module, SLT module, 2 line AA/VM module, and the module for system phones.

can this read a phone number vis CID from telco and then route that call to the appropriate message and dump the caller based on the phone number they called from?

i want regular callers to get through while making blacklisted callers think the line is no longer in service.

i put a question in the general forum asking what system, hardware or software based is capable of this function.

playing with the phone systems is just a hobby and trying to learn how they work and do what they do.

it's how i taught my self radios and computers.

i barely graduated high school, but managed to learn how to build repair and use computers, and radios, and taught myself basic electricity and electronics.

I spend enough time messing with them, i'll get it figured out smile

there is no purpose to the phone system stuff for me other then experimentation, but the question i put in the general forum has a practical use that i would like to implement on my home phone.

i know these are 10-15 y/o systems, but you learn by tinkering with the old stuff and working your way up smile

want to thank all the forum members for their patience.

This system, or even the new Toshiba systems will not make intelligent routing decisions. The closest they get is ACD, automatic call distribution or UCD, which is extremely basic at best, and I don't think comes in that system.

Complex routing would typically require a PC based system. It wouldn't seem to hard to check the CLID number against a list. Phone systems do have to make desictions all the time about how to route an incoming call, and even have DID tables. I think that routing a call based on the callers information is something that the designers would generally put into an advanced system.

Maybe having your provider do selective call rejection (if they have the ability), would be the way to proceed.

you know the telco's used to offer that option and for some reason no one does anymore.

used to be able to add 6-12 numbers (depending on provider) and change them as needed.

had the service till they dropped it.
