I blew the fuse on my Toshiba Strata CTX28 by plugging two digital extension ports into each other. I sent it to repair and got the fuse replaced. Now it powers up and shows the time and date on the phone displays, but I only get a slight buzzing instead of internal dialtone on the intercom key and same thing on a line key (I have a POTs feeding CO1). I am not a Toshiba programmer but I don't think it should be a problem of lost programming due to the power loss, I think it should feed internal dialtone to the sets when powered up without any special programming. Did maybe I fry something else that needed fixing (or replacing) as well as the fuse? Any thoughts?

Did you send it to TOSHIBA Repair?

You may have fried something else relative to the motherboard. The CTX28's were notorious for ground problems with less than ideal electrical situations.
Also, as Voyager implied... where did you send it for repair?

What I've seen in the past with these systems is that the CPU is not seated all the way. Power down the system, pull the CPU, re-seat it and power up the system.

I didn't think the CPU in a 28 was a "pull and re-seat" item, is it Tony?

The processor and the cabinet were sold as one unit in the CTX-28 and the processor came installed in the cabinet, but it is removable.
In the past I have never reseated the processor, but I was told that it should be part of my troubleshooting procedure.

Thankyou everyone for your feedback, I am happy to report that I tried the power down, re-seat and power up suggestion and I got back the dial-tone and all was well with the world! I did not send it to Toshiba, I sent it to an outfit that I found on the web, I'm not sure if I can mention names of companies on this forum, but they were great, did a nice job of putting in a removable fuse housing to replace the fixed fuse housing that was there. Thanks again for all your help everyone who responded!

Thanks for coming back with the update. Lots of times the OP fails to return after the initial post and noone knows if our suggestions worked  .
If you are happy with their work, go ahead and post the name. I know there are companies that repair Toshiba equipment besides Toshiba.
