Just an off-the-wall question. Are Toshiba handsets compatible with any other phone systems? If so are there any limitations?

It's possible. The only real way to know is to try it.

Handset tends to be an interchangeable term for either the the whole phone or just the handset piece itself. The phones will not work on another system but the handset may. As was said before...try it.

Well I was speaking of the whole phone, but the thought was to change telephone systems but keep the existing handsets, so it's not exactly something that could be easily tested without having access to another vendor's equipment.

Will not work. Phones are proprietary to phone systems.

If you're using the definition of "handset" to be "Phone"---then no, a Toshiba phone will not work with any other system nor will any other proprietary phone work with the Toshiba system.

If you want to keep the same phones---why don't you just upgrade to another Toshiba system? That's one of the advantages of the Toshiba---you don't have to change out your phones.

Guys, your comments make me think you could help with my post in "Phone Booth" "Customer Definitions".
