Hello,

I have a Toshiba CTX phone system. We recently added 7 SIP Phones (Hitachi IP5000), but we are not too happy with this phone model. We don't get any support, and the phone quality is poor. :bang: I am looking for SIP phone suggestions; which SIP would work best with this system, or which company I should contact? Any information would be helpful. I am sorry if this question has been posted before, I tried searching but did not find what I was looking for. ANY ideas would be appreciated.

Thank you!!!!

You can use Nokia E71 as a SIP Phone??? How do you set that up? Any more info will be appreciated; it looks like a nice phone. Also, the battery life on our current phone is terrible.

Nokia E51 or E71 SIP Settings

1. Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / SIP settings. Create the following profile Profile name:

Proxy server:

Realm: 192.168.254.200
User name: 200 (sip extension number)
Password: **** (sip extension password)
Allow loose routing: Yes
Transport Type: UDP
Port:5060

Registrar Server:
Registrar serv. address: sip:@192.168.254.200 (IP address of LIPU/MIPU)
Realm: 192.168.254.200
User name: 200 (sip extension number)
Password: **** (sip extension password)

2. Go to Tools / Settings / Connection / Internet Tel. Settings

Create a new profile for 200 (call it Office 200)

Wow, that is awesome. You don't have to have wireless service with that phone, correct? (meaning verizon or anyone else)... If that's the case, I will be getting some of those cells.

Thanks.

You need to have a wireless network in your office for the handset to connect to the MIPU card in the system.

You could always connect to it using the mobile internet but the MIPU would have to be accessible from, the public internet.

I have not done anything yet. I will try and get one of those phones in this week and try to get it to work on my system the following week. I may need to ask a few more questions once I start the process smile Thanks for all the info!

I wasn't successful either. I'm not sure where exactly the problem lies. But since I'll be updating some of my network equipment soon, I had to abandon the effort, since I would need to reconfigure everything then again anyway...

The idea is still promising, and I still haven't given up on it...
