A couple of quick questions for our Toshiba experts here.

I have a customer with a CTX 100 with a Strategy 4 port voice mail with SMDI interfacing.

My questions are

A. How do you assign the operator extention number, when you dial 0 from the auto attendant calls are routed to ext 203 I want them to go to Ext 206

B.Whenlistening to the Automated Attendant main greeting, apparently this system used to use single digit dialing, if I press 1 I hear driving directions for the old company that used to have this system, where do I record that message and or delete it?

As always your help and input is greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

2 more questions fellas...

Is there any way to change the incoming audible ring tones on these DKT 3210 telephones.

Also how do you change the time of day on this system?

Again thanks in advance for any input

As a Toshiba Dealer, Tampa Bay is in our coverage area as a Authorized Dealer. We would be very happy to support "your customer" with any Toshiba needs.

To change the external ring tones you need to program the tone set to the line or internal key.
dial #9876
press the intercom key display shows External Call Pitch = 11 (default tone for external calls) you can change this value to the following tones 01,02 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 then press the intercom key again to store the new ring tone.

To change the internal tone
dial #9876
press the intercom key display shows External Call Pitch = 11
Press the hold button to display Internal call Pitch = 01 (default tone for internal calls)you can change this value to the following tones 01,02 11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18 then press the intercom key again to store the new ring tone.

To change the time on the CTX/CIX
Dial #652 HHMMSS # from any idle handset

To change the date
Dial #651 YYMMDD # from any idle handset

All of these features can be found in the handset user guide, try and contact someone local to you for these if possible.

You will need to use the Voicemail Manager software to edit mailbox 0 to change the extn number to 206 from 203.

As for the AA setup you will need to find out what the mailbox number is so you can change the menu options 1,2 etc and re-record the greeting. The default AA mailbox would be 990 usually says "thankyou for calling" then it chain dones onto mailbox 991 usually says "if you know the extension number please dial it now or hold for the operator" this might have been changed for please pres 1 for .... 2 for ..... etc

The bottom line is that unless you have the right software and training you would be better off having someone do the programming for you like SSPhone has offered.

Carlos you are assuming 0 is being routed to a extension not a phamtom DN.

SSPhone your right without more information I do not know if the menu option 0 has 203 as the destination or it is using the 0 mailbox with 203 in the extension field.
It was a suggestion as to where to start looking but as you know with the voicemails it could be configured anywhere depending on who set it up.

But the default would be AA-990 instructions-991 and then hold for operator-0

For that matter it could be set as a Tenant attendant, which I have done a couple times, tho a lot less likely.

I have also seen ext 0 be a real extension. The easy way to tell if it is any of these is to dial 0 froma phone and see if anything rings.

I worked on an account that used mailbx 0 and had a phantom 0 with VMID of 0. This ended up beiong the cause of a problem that took me a very long time to figure out. Even Tech suuport was no help (updated all software per their direction). At one point the customer went down to the Toshiba building to talk to Toshiba directly, They refered them back to us.

I took so long to figure out because I could not recreate the problem. Turned out it only happened when you call from a caller ID blocked number. The caller hears "Please enter your security code". It was trying to log the caller into mailbox 0.

Went off on a tangent but maybe someone else might run into the same thing someday.
