I went through the directions and also the forum. The VM system emails when there is a message but does not attach the actual voicemail as an attachment. I just get an email telling me my box has a voicemail. Using Outlook 2010 and I would guess it's not compatible, but the emails do go through. I remember back in the Outlook 2000 days I had to download codecs and configure mailboxes etc. but I read on the forum that isn't the case anymore. Where did I configure wrong? Thanks in advance!

To make it simple you should setup the voicemail to transport using IP standard. If you have it set to SES you need to install the Outlook client. If the client is installed and configured correctly it will download the voicemail when you open the message in outlook.
Click delete on send if you don't want to also clear it from your voicemail after it sends the message by email.
You will need the codex no matter which way you send the voicemail, unless the IES is set to record messages in a different format.
I don't know if the client is compatable with Outlook 2010. Toshiba tends to be a couple years behind. I iknow it is 2007 compatible. They are starting to try to move away from the oulook client and use a new methode, a web based viewer running on a server.

it was set for using IP standard and I also changed the vm parameter sys_msg_recording_audio_type to 5. The system has been rebooted. My greeting and recordings both played fine. Like I said the emails come through to my mailbox specified, but there is no attachment. I'm wondering if there is another config somewhere that tells it to attach the recording instead of just sending a message.

If you have the Message Transport in the UM tab for each mailbox set to send the massage using IP Standard and not SES Proprietary, and Target email to POP3, then it should sent the message with a wav file attachment.
If you are not getting the attachment then something else is wrong. Try sending to a different email address and double check the UM settings.

all settings are as you specify. Now playing with mail server to see if a firewall or security setting is making it not happen. thanks!
